SERVICE 01 · ARTIST MANAGEMENT

A real team behind your career.

Feed the Family manages artists, DJs, and radio personalities across the country and beyond — from Bun B to Power 105.1 and Hot 97 DJs to members of 41, signed to Republic Records. We take on a small number of new artists at a time, by application, so every artist on the roster gets real attention.

Who this is for

Artists with momentumYou release consistently, you’re building a real fanbase, and you’ve outgrown doing everything yourself.
Artists getting label interestLabels, brands, or promoters are reaching out and you need someone in your corner who knows how those rooms work.
Artists thinking long termYou want a partner who builds a brand and a business with you — not a one-time service.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Everything a manager should handle

Label & partner relationshipsWe take the meetings, follow up, and keep the people who matter — labels, promoters, media, brands — working with you.
Brand developmentBrand discovery sessions, one sheets, brand strategy documents, and visual direction, so you walk into every room already looking like an artist worth investing in.
Deals & negotiationsWe break down offers, push for better terms, and coordinate with your entertainment attorney before anything gets signed.
Marketing & rolloutsPaid campaigns, press runs, data-driven growth, and tracking set up so every release and show is measured.
Shows & opportunitiesBookings, hosting, media pitches, and partnerships — and the judgment to say no to the ones that don’t help.

IN PRACTICE

What we do for Jenn Carter and Kyle Richh

Before a label meeting, we built full brand packages for both artists: one sheets, brand strategy documents, and brand universe decks, shaped through live discovery sessions. We pitch them to media partners, run their show campaigns, and handle the problems that come up along the way.

Questions

How are managers paid?

You don’t pay a manager up front. Managers earn a commission, typically around 20% of the gross income from the business they manage. The exact percentage, what it applies to, and how long the agreement lasts are set in your management contract.

Do I need to be signed to apply?

No. Signed and independent artists can both apply. We review every application case by case.

Do you only work with artists in New York?

No. We’re based in New York, but Hood’s 30+ years in the business give us relationships across the country and overseas, and we work with artists wherever they are.

What if I’m not ready for management yet?

Start with a song review or a strategy call. You’ll get a clear picture of what to work on, and we’ll get to know your music.
