How to Book a Rapper or DJ for Your Event

By Touré, COO of Feed the Family Entertainment · 3 min read

Booking an artist or DJ is simpler than most people think, as long as you plan ahead and send the right details. Here's how the process works with Feed the Family.

1. Reach out at least 30 days before your event

Book at least 30 days out. That gives both sides time to promote the event properly. Tours, festivals, and international dates should book even further ahead.

2. Send the details

Your request should include:

  • The date you have in mind.
  • What you want the artist to do: perform, host, DJ, or appear.
  • The city and venue, plus the expected capacity.
  • Your offer or budget.

The more detail you share, the faster we can confirm.

3. Travel and accommodation are part of the price

Where your event is matters. The farther it is from where the artist is based, the more travel and accommodation factor into the booking price. That applies whether the show is across the state or across the world. We book globally and build those costs into the quote.

4. Contract and deposit lock the date

Once we agree on the event, we send a contract with every agreed term in writing. The booking is officially locked in when both parties sign and the person or company booking sends a deposit. The deposit amount is negotiated for each booking.

5. Advance the show

Before the event, we share the technical and hospitality riders and coordinate travel and logistics, so the day of the show goes smoothly.

Can I book more than one person?

Yes. You can book one artist, a few, or the whole roster for the same event.
